November, 2020 - Sonny, An Election, Sonny, Thanksgiving and a Pandemic

November came and still no end in sight to the Pandemic. The conversations turned to how will we celebrate Thanksgiving and what fun can we create for ourselves during the month of November?

Carleigh and friends came up for a long weekend...and to play with Sonny!

Early voting for Carleigh!

Then the election day that we've all been waiting for came, Katie and Carleigh's first presidential election!

More Sonny!

Fun times with friends!

Katie comes home for a long weekend before Thanksgiving!

Carleigh is home for Thanksgiving!

Watching the Parade!

Thanksgiving was a very warm day this year! Perfect for some outdoor relaxation and open windows!

Happy #52 to Laura! Delicious cupcakes made by Katie!

So...November closes with the world still in a Global Pandemic and the numbers rising. The holiday season will definitely look different this year as we all try to safe and protect each other.

The challenge is on! Find joy and fun in the midst of all of this craziness...stay tuned to see how we accomplish that as

October, 2020 - Sonny, Shenandoah, Leaves, Halloween and a Pandemic

The month of October continued our staying at home. The empty nest was still empty as Carleigh and Katie were at UMW and GMU. Sonny kept us company and provided lots of joy!

Family facetime:

Katie's graduation trip was cancelled...twice! So it was substituted with a graduation trip to Tyson's Corner!

New hair at Patty Haircuts place!!

Teaching from home with Sonny!

Don and I did take a quick getaway to Shenandoah National park for 2 nights and stayed at Skyland Resort!

Then Halloween festivities began...

Including our annual leaf day photo shoot - had to go to Fireman's Field because we didn't have enough leaves at our house.

Halloween looked different this year as we practiced Socially Distant Trick-or-Treating.

Though the world still looks different, the Rahns continue to celebrate Seldom A Dull Moment!
