Day 7 - Seein' is Belize-an - our last day on the island

Our last full day on the island was spent doing everything and buying everything that we saved till the end. So..today's blog post is a walking tour of our adventures as we check off the items on our list...

5:30 a.m. on our balcony

the other view - the Happy Hour area and the Spa.  The covered area is where they do the yoga classes

walking down Front St - right outside our hotel 8:00 a.m.

the last coffee bar that we hadn't been to yet - maybe the best!

continuing our walk towards Back St and the market

parking areas in front of stores...

we passed by Boogies Belly again

found a great grocery store - probably good that we didn't find it earlier... clean and full of items from home

We found the market - on Back St. - everything made on the island

The girls made lots of purchases, as did Don and I.

the walk back towards the water and Front St.

the front side of Belize Chocolate Company

rush hour in San Pedro

Joe, a wood carver that we bought a hand carved nurse shark from. Selling his crafts to get his daughter through college so that she can become a doctor

the artist painting our Christmas ornament that we bought

where we bought our ornament

Poco Loco's - our lunch stop - a "food court" in an alley on Front St. - very cool!!

fresh salads for Carleigh and I

Tacos for Don

crepes for Katie

very cute, clean and colorful place

After our morning adventure exploring San Pedro for the last time, we settled in to the pool for our last afternoon!

legal drinks will end soon!

sportin' my new fanny pack that I purchased. Don't know if I'll ever wear it again, but it's an ongoing joke with my work colleagues, so I had to get it!
We then headed to our last happy hour!

Anna was the one who showed us our room 7 days ago - will miss this great staff here!

Our walk to dinner...

We ate at Wild Mango's - a restaurant down the beach that we had been eyeing for a few days. It did not disappoint!!

had to get in a Margarita before we left!

Praying to the stress god before we leave.... :)

We then returned to the hotel, finished packing and settled in to sleep, Our luggage will be picked up at 10 a.m. and then we begin our journey home...tiny Tropic Air to Belize City, to Miami and then arriving at Dulles at about midnight. A long day ahead and lots of time to reflect on our time on La Isla Bonita.

Will we return? Probably not...a lot has changed since we were here 19 years ago. It is still beautiful and there are incredible experiences to be had here. And...there are lots of places that we haven't seen yet also.

Stay tuned for the last post as I reflect on our time here...the great, the good and the not so good....
